Doors, Porches & Gardens Tour
Doors, Porches, & Gardens walking tour showcases the hidden gems and secret gardens in Olde Towne’s lovely historic neighborhood. Committee members plan and coordinate this biennial event. If you’re interested in this leading committee, please email us. The next tour will be held in Spring 2023.

Ghost Walk
Our most popular walking tour is based on the Jack-the-Ripper Walks in London, participants are treated to some of the most haunting stories of Portsmouth’s past. Ghost Walk is quite the production and many volunteers are needed. There’s a job for anyone’s skill set. Chaired by talented and creative Jeannette Rainey, committee members plan and coordinate every detail of the event. Olde Towne Portsmouth Ghost Walk held annually, the Friday before Halloween. Interested in volunteering? Watch the Ghost Walk Volunteer Session.

Holiday Wreaths
Each year Olde Towne residents gather on an early December morning to prep and hang holiday wreaths throughout the neighborhood as well as hang lights in Greenwich and Westminster parks. Chaired by Tom Butt, this tradition is a favorite in our community.

Holiday Homes Tour
The biennial Holiday Homes Tour is a Portsmouth holiday favorite. Beautiful historic Olde Towne homes dating back as far as the mid-late 1700s dressed in their holiday best are open for touring. This year’s committee is led with holiday cheer by Robin Altice. Committee members plan and coordinate this tour. Interested in volunteering? Watch the Volunteer Information Session below.

National Night Out
This evening of family-friendly community fun is a partnership between neighborhoods and their local police departments.  Held annually on the second Tuesday in August, committee members plan Olde Towne’s National Night Out event. If you are interested in leading this committee, please email us.

Skippers
Kids ages 5-12 are invited to join as helpers for civic league events and neighborhood activities. Kitty Bryant, Chair, developed this program to recognize kids of members who volunteer along side their parent/guardian. We hope being a Skipper gives your child a sense of responsibility for helping their neighbors and city. Parents/Guardians should be Members. Kids do not need to come to meetings and there is not an additional cost for kid members, just lend a hand when it fits your schedule. Skipper opportunities are posted on our social media pages and Olde Towne Portsmouth Families Facebook page.

Square Captains
It’s hip to be square in Olde Towne! Square Captains represent a neighborhood square to communicate with neighbors about Olde Towne Civic League events and news. Captains are attend captain and league meetings, distribute newsletters, share community information and concerns, and lead positive changes in our neighborhood. Robin Altice, Chair, launched this endeavor to bring our community together. There are a few squares that need Captains. Click here for more information.

Tech & Communications
Information is key! The Tech & Communications committee manages the league’s website and social meeting pages. Chaired by Jennifer Deason, the committee provides and updates content, recommends digital best practices, and maintains communication continuity. Jenn was recently elected to the OTPCL Board and we need a new Tech Committee Chair. If you are interested, click to volunteer button below.
