North St. Fire Donations

Our hearts go out to the two Olde Towne families displaced by the tragic home fire on Monday, January 17. These families are safe but are in urgent need of basic necessities. They have lost just about everything. The Olde Towne Portsmouth Civic League is partnering with Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market and St. John’s Episcopal Church to help these families. If you would like to contribute, there are several ways.
- St. John’s Episcopal Church is accepting tax-deductable donations for the families on their website, https://www.faithstreet.com/church/st-johns-church-portsmouth-va/giving. Please select “Special Designated” and add “North St. Fire Fund” in the memo section. You may also drop off gift cards and donation checks in St. John’s mail slot on London Street closest to the parking lot. Gift cards most needed are for necessities like clothes, toiletries, and food. Visa, Walmart, Target, Amazon, grocery stores, and local restaurants are very helpful. Please make checks payable to St. John’s Episcopal Church and add “North St. Fire Fund” in the memo.
- Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market has started a Go Fund Me for the families. Please click the link to contribute. https://gofund.me/54655181
- Olde Towne Portsmouth Civic League collected gift cards for the families at their January meeting and made a cash donation to each family. Donations were delivered on Friday, 1/20/23. If you would like to donate, please select either option above.
- At this time we are unable to accept physical donations like clothing, furniture, etc.
Thank you for helping our neighbors get back on their feet.
